tbird Welcomes Star Studded Field for CSI4* Canadian Premier

International jumping stars have descended upon Thunderbird Show Park for a thrilling two weeks of CSI4* competition, beginning with the 2025 Canadian Premier, May 21–25. An impressive list of 57 international entries will take to the Fort Grand Prix Field, ultimately vying for top honors in Sunday’s CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix.

Among the start list are six Olympic veterans—Katie Laurie (AUS), Uma O’Neill (NZL), Hilary Scott (AUS), Patricio Pasquel (MEX), Daniel Coyle (IRL) and hometown hero Tiffany Foster (CAN). Of those six, two are bringing forth their Olympic mounts (eyes on Django II and Oaks Milky Way).

In the top 20 ranked riders in the world, the Canadian Premier welcomes world number 16 and tbird’s winningest rider Conor Swail (IRL) who brings three of his seasoned veterans in Theo 160, Count Me In, and Vital Chance de la Roque.

Joining Swail is fellow Irishman Coyle, who sits in the 14th spot worldwide. Coyle brings forth Incredible, his partner for the FEI World Cup Finals, and Farrell, another mount on winning form for the 2025 season so far.

Foster, who won her first CSI5* Grand Prix at tbird in 2023, is currently ranked in the top 40 athletes worldwide, as well as in the top five female athletes. This week she brings forth a new partner in California Pie, as well as a seasoned one in Battlecry.

Foster is joined by multiple top Canadian athletes, including 2022 Canadian national champion Ali Ramsay, who has brought two of her top horses, Bonita V/H Keizershof Z and Conrado 12, as well as national team members Ben Asselin, Kara Chad, Nicole Walker and Samantha Buirs-Darvill.

Local talent includes Christopher Lowe (CAN), Kyle King (USA) and Buirs-Darvill, all based out of the Langley area, along with Kassidy Keith (CAN) of Surrey and Natalie Popham (CAN) of Victoria.
